When community food growing projects ‘scale up’ the volunteer experience can be diminished as concentration shifts to the logistics of production. Holywood CoFarm has managed this challenge by employing a Lead Grower: a dedicated role to welcoming, coordinating, organising, encouraging and supporting the learning of the volunteers.
